I Have Breast Implants, And I Noticed A Lump In My Breast – What Do I Do?

Millions of women around the globe have implants. Some have opted for it because of deformities of their breasts resulting from genetic defects or serious diseases, or they are simply unsatisfied with their breast shape. Although the doctor will carefully place the implants in the breasts, as it is not natural, breast examinations must be performed regularly by any trained medical professional, doctor, or paramedic.

Many people suddenly find a lump on their breasts, and in most cases, not in the presence of a doctor or medical professional. Many will disregard it as the implant itself, and some will get concerned about it.

What do you mean by breast lumps?
A breast lump is a mass that develops over your breast/mammary gland, regardless of the exact location. There is no particular shape to the lump, but it is almost semi-circular most of the time. It may feel like a frozen pea or rock and may or may not hurt. It may or may not develop puss, depending on the condition.

Typical cases of breast lumps

A breast lump may be anything, starting from anything not harmful to the most deadly of diseases.

1. Acne
Our whole body is covered in hair. From the head to the toes, there is a variable amount of hair throughout our bodies. Every hair strand of our body has tiny structures called hair follicles. Acne is a skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become filled with oil and dead skin cells from our daily routines. Acne is not a serious medical concern and is common in everyone, regardless of sex.

Sometimes, it may become a big one leading to the development of puss, which can be painful. In these cases, the breast lump may feel like a big pea and be painless or painful. The best way to determine acne is by the type of pain. If it is painful, check whether the pain is on the outer skin. If it is painless, apply some pressure to check the same. Acne can be pretty big enough sometimes to be considered a lump. It is nothing serious, and many cosmetic and medical creams are available on the market.

2. Eruptions
Eruptions are common in every human being. They can result from a various number of causes. The most common being the skin exposed to heat or internal conditions like too much fat in the liver. While heat eruptions may not always result in a lump, internal problems always result in a lump before the eruption. A lump may be formed if you have a lot of fat or are intolerant to certain foods.

This is because your body sees this as foreign material and is trying to take out the “toxins” in the form of
a lump and an eruption. The lump may feel like a tricky thing stuck in our underarms or on any surface it
is developed. There is no cure for this in cosmetic procedures and contact a medical professional once you
see the lump not curing over cosmetic creams. Although this is a medical condition, there is nothing to get worried about as it is pretty easily curable.

3. Tumor
Everyone is pretty familiar with the word tumor. It is the condition that results from an abnormal amount of cells dividing. Tumors are mainly two types: Benign and Malignant. Benign tumors are not cancerous. Most tumors start with the benign phase, remain the same, and do not progress. If you feel a lump on your breasts and it increases in size, but not so rapidly, chances are that it is a tumor. Most of the tumors are painless and not noticeable. Malignant tumors are the ones that develop to cause cancer.

But, it is not safe at all to leave it. The tumor cells will affect the normal cells, which may result in complications. Contact a gynecologist immediately if you feel a lump that does not appear on the surface. Also, make sure not to apply pressure on the lumps.

4. Cancerous
Breast cancer is a highly researched topic throughout the world. Cancer results from carcinogenic pathogens (substances that cause cancer) or when the tumor progresses from benign stage to malignant stage. Malignant tumors result in an uncontrollable division of white blood cells, which results in cancer. A maximum of cancers are detected through the ELISA test. Contact a doctor immediately when your lump is in the tumor phase, and it may still be curable.

The Final Words
The above-mentioned are some everyday things to look out for when you feel a lump in your breasts. It is important to note that not every lump is a tumor or cancer. Also, the tumor development has nothing to do with the implants as they were placed surgically, and the materials for the implants are always body friendly. Sometimes, the lump may not be any of the conditions mentioned above; it is simply the implant you feel. However, if you feel anxious, do contact a medical professional.
